The volunteering is built into both trips. It is not a bolt-on or a marketing claim. You spend real time doing real fieldwork with real conservationists. We partner with vetted programmes that have been running for years.
Our principles
Volunteering without
the washing.
No petting. No riding.
We work with programmes that follow the ABTA guidelines on wildlife tourism. Ethical wildlife programmes don't allow tourists to pet or ride wild animals.
Capped group sizes.
Our volunteer partners cap at 4-6 volunteers per session. More people does not mean more impact. Less people means better work and better access.
Money flows to the work.
A portion of every trip fee is passed directly to the partner organisation. We publish where it goes.
Honest framing.
You don't rescue Africa in one morning. You contribute one session of useful data that forms part of a 10-year dataset. That's how real conservation actually works.
Closing the voluntourism gap.
GVI, one of the world's largest volunteer travel operators, closed in 2026. The demand is real. We fill it with short, integrated modules rather than costly standalone gap-year programmes.

Moholoholo Wildlife Rehab
Hoedspruit, Limpopo
Rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned animals near Kruger. Volunteers assist with feeding, enclosure maintenance, and daily observations.

Reserve Conservation Programme
Karongwe, Greater Kruger
Morning game counts, rhino monitoring, and anti-poaching patrol data collection. You move through the bush with a field guide and contribute to long-term population data.

Care for Wild (visit)
Barberton, Mpumalanga
The world's largest rhino orphan sanctuary. Visits during the Ultimate trip involve guided educational sessions, not active volunteer work, to protect the animals' welfare.
